Police Judo Kids Festival

A judo event invites our club friends, new judo families, and the young novice judoka to participate at a fun and friendly invitational collaborative judo Kodomo -no-Kata and kids judo matches at club setting to gain a positive experience through meeting other judo friends and learning experience from the sport of judo.

Time: 8 AM – 4 PM
Location: 5487 Lane St, Burnaby, BC
(close to Royal Oak skytrain station and two blocks off Kingsway @ Royal Oak St.)
Entry Fee: $30 (includes BBQ plate, chips, and drink or ice cream ticket)

Eligibility: All competitors must be in good standing with Judo BC prior to the tournament deadline.

Entries must be received by 11:59 pm on Wednesday June 24th, so we can make the divisions and distribute them to the coaches for approval before the event.

Minimum Rank will be White/Yellow Belt.
Maximum Rank will be Orange belt.
White-yellow belt will start by default in Ne-Waza (ground work optional)

* Male and Female categories separate where possible.
* U8/ U10/ U12 may be mixed gender.

* Competitors will be placed in groups up to 5, by age, weight and belt level, as entries permit.

Weigh-in: Honor System. There will be a scale for spot checks should concerns arise. We ask that Club Instructors verify the athlete’s weights. Discrepancies between reported weights and actual weights may result in disqualification without refund.
Elimination: Round Robin.
Contest Rules, Match Times and Divisions: As per Judo Canada tournament sanctioning policy. Matches will be officiated and scores called but not recorded. Wins will be recognized. Every participant will receive a prize and awards will be presented to all competitors! We have a club award and prize for the club with the highest participants!
